Website of the Week: ArtBabble

ArtBabble – Play Art Loud (Gr. 3-12)

ArtBabble is a “free-flowing conversation” using video to explore, discuss and showcase art. This vast archive of videos can be searched by way of video series, channels (e.g. types of art), artists and organizations that have partnered with the site. ArtBabble was conceived, built, organized and maintained by the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

  • Art Appreciation classes take note. Use this site to spark student interest in the art medium of their choosing. Students don’t just get to look at the art but get to listen to the artist behind the work talk about the who, what, when, where and why of their pieces.

The image below is from Leo Villareal’s series on his LED light sculptures, VERY cool! (watch it here).
