News Map – World News by Location (Gr. 6-12)
News Map is a “mash-up” of several information gathers including Google Maps and Yahoo! Search, organized to make it easier for you to view current event news based on location. First, select from one of the eight regions list at the top. Once the Google map uploads your choice, select a region on the map to display headlines from that region in the right-hand column. Check the websites listed beneath the headlines to see the source site for the article. In some regions, zooming in will allow you to access content specific to state/provinces and even cities.
