Website of the Week: TimeSearch History

TimeSearch History – Search the web through timelines (Gr. 3-12)

TimeSearch uses timelines to connect students and teachers with events in world history so that they can be analyzed in the proper contexts. Simply enter a year in the search bar at the top of the page, specify BC or AD, and click GO. The site will return a list of events from around the work that occurred during that year. Icons to the left and/or right to the event heading will link you to similar resources with help from Google. A legend of what the icons represent are displayed at the top of any search request page.

INTEGRATE

  • This could be a great site for students to use when brainstorming ideas for stories or research topics.
  • Use the timeline to connect concurrent events from all over the world with the events from today’s lessons.
