HowTo – YouTube Editor: Annotations

This tutorial explores YouTube’s ‘Annotations’ editing tool. Annotations allow you to add text on top of your video using five different types of overlays:

  1. Speech bubble
  2. Note
  3. Title
  4. Spotlight
  5. Label

YouTube has also recently added an enhanced annotation tool called “Cards.” More information on what Cards can do and how to enable this editing tool for your videos can be found on the YouTube Help Site.

NOTE: Annotations do not appear on custom YouTube chromeless players, or on mobile, tablet and TV devices.
